For my holiday project this year, I am collecting pet food, supplies, treats and toys to be distributed to Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society and the Capital District Humane Association.
Both organizations have to provide daily care for dozens and dozens of animals. Not just food, but things like paper towels, hand sanitizer, bedding, and even peanut butter. Since I can’t adopt every dog and cat (would that I could!) the Pause for Paws Pet Supply Drive will help provide at least some assistance to make the animals’ stay at rescues and shelters more comfortable while they await their forever homes.
Many thanks to the following veterinary clinics that have generously agreed to act as donation points:
Capitaland Animal Hospital– 890 Troy-Schenectady Road, Latham
Central Veterinary Hospital – 388 Central Avenue, Albany
Normanside Veterinary Clinic – 700 Delaware Avenue, Albany
Sand Creek Animal Hospital – 454 Sand Creek Road, Albany
The Pause for Paws Pet Supply Drive will continue through December 31, 2010.
So next time you make yet another trip to the grocery store, pharmacy or the mall, please pick up one of the following items (or two!) and bring them to a participating veterinary hospital:

The economic downturn means more and more animals are being surrendered to rescues and shelters, and we need to help out. By providing these rescues and shelters with the supplies they need, let’s support their dedicated volunteers and help save the lives of orphaned or abandoned companion animals.
Thank you, and happy holidays!
