Observation: Dogs rise to the occasion

Case in point:

Pug Elvis climbs and camps on the back of the sofa, the arm of a chair, and even in the bay window. The higher the better. Barking at will is therefore piercingly at ear level.

Quick fix:

Car floor mats have prickly  little rubber protrusions on their reverse sides. Strategic placement of the mats gets a dog to reconsider where he parks his sensitive butt.

Result:

Perching is for parakeets, not pugs.
