Case in point:
Chocolate Lab Prince considers the odds of snagging the remains of a sandwich when his owner’s back is turned to be a worthwhile risk.

Quick fix:
During human food preparation and mealtimes, guide your dog to the family room (NOT the kitchen) and keep him occupied with a stuffed, frozen Kong or food ball.
Result:
No purloined Reubens or yelling. The dog gets a high value distraction and a clear message that fun and food is outside the kitchen.
