Remember the National Lampoon magazine cover from 1973 that had a picture of a dog looking terrified while a gun is pointed to its head? The title was “Buy this magazine or we’ll shoot this dog.” Maybe that cover is the reason National Lampoon no longer exists.

Well, this next holiday giveaway has the unfortunate title of I Want to Kill the Dog. The author is Richard Cohen, also known as the husband of television personality Meredith Vieira. According to reviews, “it is a portrait of a marriage and of the redemptive power of humor and family when banishing the beast is not an option.”

I would assume there is a reader who know someone who shares this sentiment of wanting the family dog to vanish. If so, write a comment about why you should have this book and it will be given to the first commenter who has a good reason.
